Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the North OS platform, website and APIs (the "Service") and forms part of our Terms of Service. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations.

1. Illegal Activity

You must not use the Service to violate any law or regulation, including fraud, money laundering, sanctions violations, or facilitation of criminal activity.

2. Harmful Content and Conduct

You must not upload, generate, store or transmit content that:

  • Contains malware, viruses, ransomware or other harmful code
  • Constitutes spam, phishing, chain letters or unsolicited bulk communications
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading
  • Constitutes hate speech, incites violence, or promotes discrimination against protected groups
  • Harasses, threatens, defames or abuses any person
  • Is unlawful, including content that infringes intellectual property, violates privacy rights, or is obscene or exploitative
  • Sexualises or endangers minors in any way (zero tolerance — reported to authorities)

3. Security Violations

You must not:

  • Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without written permission (see our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy for authorised research)
  • Breach or circumvent authentication or security measures
  • Access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including denial-of-service attacks

4. AI-Specific Abuse

You must not:

  • Attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking or manipulation of AI systems to bypass safety controls
  • Attempt model extraction, weight extraction or systematic harvesting of prompts or AI outputs
  • Use the Service or its outputs to train, develop or improve competing AI models or products
  • Generate content designed to deceive at scale (disinformation, impersonation, deepfakes without disclosure)
  • Use AI features to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without meaningful human review

5. Platform Integrity

You must not:

  • Scrape, crawl or use automated means to extract data from the Service
  • Share credentials or allow unauthorised account access
  • Abuse APIs, exceed or circumvent rate limits, quotas or usage restrictions
  • Resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties without authorisation
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Place excessive load on infrastructure or degrade the Service for other users

6. Reporting Violations

Report suspected violations to support@northos.co.uk. We investigate all reports and may remove content, suspend accounts, notify law enforcement, and pursue any other remedy available.

7. Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, content removal, throttling, immediate suspension or permanent termination, at our discretion, with or without notice depending on severity. We may also report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.
